This website is operated by [STUDIO NAME], an independent game development studio. It serves as the online presence for our space survival simulation and home to MOTHER, the ship's operating intelligence.

What We Collect and Why
Browsing Without an Account
No personal information is collected from you directly when you browse without registering. Netlify, our hosting provider, logs standard server data — such as IP addresses and browser type — as part of normal web infrastructure. We do not access these logs for marketing or tracking purposes.
Your browser stores a small flag in localStorage to record whether you have visited before. This is used solely to skip the vault door animation on return visits. It contains no personal data and never leaves your device.
Creating an Account
When you register as a crew member, we collect your chosen username or display name, your email address, and a password stored in encrypted form via Supabase. This information is used only to identify you and provide access to the full MOTHER AI experience.
Conversations With MOTHER
Registered users interact with MOTHER via the Anthropic API. Messages you send are transmitted to Anthropic's servers to generate responses. We do not store your conversation history on our systems beyond what is required to maintain context within a single session.
Please do not share sensitive personal information — financial details, passwords, identification numbers — in messages to MOTHER.
We track the number of AI queries made within a 24-hour period per account. This count is stored in Supabase and resets daily. It is used only to enforce fair usage limits and is not shared with third parties or used for any other purpose.
Third-Party Services
The following services are used to operate this site. Each is governed by its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
Cookies and Local Storage
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We use localStorage in your browser to store your session state and visit history flag. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Supabase uses a session token to keep you logged in. This is a standard authentication mechanism and contains no personal profile data beyond your session identifier.
Analytics and Behavioural Tracking
We do not currently use any third-party analytics platforms. We plan to introduce passive engagement tracking in a future update — recording things like session length and topics explored — to understand how the site is used and improve the experience. This policy will be updated before that system is introduced, and where required by law we will seek your consent.
Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. If you request deletion, we will remove your email address, username, and associated usage records from our systems within 30 days. Conversation data transmitted to Anthropic is subject to their own retention policies.
Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have rights under applicable law including GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. These may include the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data.

We will never sell your data. We will never use it for advertising. It exists solely to run this site and improve it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, a notice will appear in the terminal.
